Today in our 31 Days of Preparation series we wanted to share how we're preparing our home for Halloween along with a few porch pillow makeovers. During the last several weeks we've been working on projects to get our home ready for fall, but recently we added a few more touches of ghoulish delight for Halloween.
A friend made this amazing wreath and we think she did a lovely job...so fun! I'm not big on spiders and creepy crawlies, but it totally works! The touch of green really completes the look (;
And of course we had to take this opportunity make over porch pillows for the occasion (: We simply took 2 pieces of orange fabric cut to fit an existing pillow, hemmed the edges with iron-on tape, cut a cat silhouette from felt and attached it with fabric glue. Don't forget the green bow (: Very easy!
We also made another pillow except this one was on the witchy side of things. We covered another existing pillow with the same orange fabric as our cat pillow, cut out witchy boots from felt and 2 strips of orange ribbon embrellished with black glittery dots. We then glued the ribbons and boots in place using fabric glue and added tiny black buttons for eyelets with green bows to finish things off.
We loved these pillow projects because they didn't require one stitch of sewing! I love to sew, but this was a quick and fun makeover that didn't require tons of time.
